Day 1: Krakow - Auschwitz

Start the day with breakfast before setting off on a famous Krakow walking tour: the castle district, the Jewish quarter or the historic old town.  Krakow is bursting at the seams with history, culture, adventure and good value shopping.  After a wander through the Christmas markets, it's time for Auschwitz - an eerie experience that will no doubt leave you feeling humbled. Evening in Krakow.

Day 2: Krakow

Today is to experience Krakow. This is a great chance to shop for that secret Santa present, to visit the Royal salt mines or to just revel in the Xmas spirit with the locals. Krakow is full of fabulous Christmas cheer on this day as it is the last working day before Xmas, so party tonight through the cobbled stone streets and numerous bars of Krakow.

Day 3: Krakow - Zakopane

We set off early to make the most of the day ahead. After checking into our cosy alpine lodge, take the chance to ski the slopes of the Tatra Mountains, or simply soak up the Christmas atmosphere in the picturesque alpine town of Zakopane. Midnight mass is a must for the Polish; join the locals for this amazing spiritual experience.  Experience a truly Central European Christmas Eve here in Zakopane.

Day 4: Zakopane Xmas Day

Food, wine and good company - experience a real "White Christmas" in the heart of Eastern Europe! Christmas dinner is included in the price. Turkey, roast potatoes, ham, Christmas pudding - revel revel revel. Maybe even an early ski before the Xmas party!

Day 5: Zakopane - Budapest

It's time to head south to the famous (or according to some, infamous) Budapest.  Stop en-route in the Donovally, one of Slovakia's most well known ski regions, for lunch and quick toboggan run! We arrive in Budapest in time for an evening of Boxing Day celebrations with an orientation walk and a karaoke night.

Day 6: Budapest

A day at leisure in this fascinating city - melt the day away with a thermal bath and a massage; shop 'til you drop at the endless sales and boutiques; get to know the city's nooks and crannies with a walking or biking tour; see things from a different perspective on an underground caving tour; or simply relax and people watch in the hip cafe district.

Day 7: Budapest - Vienna

Leaving Budapest, we slip back into Slovakia to visit the capital - Bratislava. Meander through the cobble stoned streets and enjoy lunch at one of the many happening restaurants and cafes.  Tonight is spent in Vienna, the gateway to the East.

Day 8: Vienna

Today is yours to discover Vienna. Warm up with some Gluhwein at the Christmas markets, explore the old town and all it's splendour, take your pick from the many museums or get up close and personal with Hundertwasser, Austria's very own Gaudi. In the late afternoon, we venture to the local Schnapps Museum, for a tour and a taste of that all too familiar liqueur, before curing your munchies with some traditional Austrian cuisine. For the cultured, there's even the opportunity to witness a famous Viennese concert.

Day 9: Vienna - Cesky Krumlov

En route to Cesky Krumlov enjoy a detour through the stunning Wachau Valley, one of Austria's finest wine regions.  After a walk through medieval Durnstein and some wine tasting, we continue on towards the Czech Republic, arriving in Cesky Krumlov in time for some sightseeing around this quaint UNESCO listed city and an evening of Czech specialities.

Day 10: Cesky Krumlov - Prague

New Year's Eve!

We make a nice early start to New Years Eve and head the short distance to Prague to get ready for the celebrations. We will orientate you around Prague, checking out all the highlights before our final night and a New Years to remember.
