‘This was the best tour I’ve been on by far. I had a really great time, many memories and experiences. I’d recommend this trip to anyone in the future. The guide and driver were both excellent, they made a good team. I’ll be writing about this experience in my travel blog.’ David James, Australia, August 2009

Itinerary >

Day 1 : Prague - Kutna Hora - Olomouc

After breakfast we drive across the Czech Republic we reach UNESCO listed Kutna Hora, where you'll discover the famous church made from human bones! After lunch we travel to the Moravian capital Olomouc.  It's a pre-touristy hidden gem, a university town of pubs, churches, castles, no tourists and amazingly cheap prices. Tonight is the aeroplane party, a great chance to really get to know your guide and fellow travellers.

Day 2 : Olomouc - Auschwitz - Krakow

Today we visit Auschwitz, the Nazi death camp, an eerie experience. We have set up a guided tour of both Auschwitz and Birkenau camps for you. We like to take our time here, it is important to learn about such places as we believe that learning is understanding. We then head on to Krakow and your first evening in this Polish Gem of a city.  Our guide will escort you on a memorable night out in Krakow

Day 3 : Krakow

We start the day with a bike tour covering the complete Schindler's list and the beauty of Krakow; the castle district, the Jewish quarter, its bustling markets, the historic old town of course with a local guide. They are really great at bringing the city to life, there’s so much to see before an afternoon at leisure and an evening meal of Polish specialties and cracking nightlife.

Day 4: Krakow - Zakopane

After breakfast in Krakow we then drive to the stunning Tatra Mountains for some alpine revelry in Zakopane. A hike to the top of Eastern Europe awaits, or just kick back in the village touring all the sights. You will certainly get a kick out of the homes that were built with one tree! In the evening we like to immerse you in the traditions of Zakopane in one of the many traditional taverns.

Day 5: Zakopane - Budapest

After a hearty breakfast, it’s onto Budapest, with a stop in the mountains of the Donovally area, Slovakia, for a picnic lunch. Budapest, the party capital of the east lays waiting, so what better way to familiarise you with this great city, than with a night out eating and clubbing Budapest style.

Day 6: Budapest

Enjoy a free day in buzzing Budapest. Go caving under Budapest, or stroll the regal castle district. Maybe an evening thermal bath or a spot of good retail therapy along the many, Paris styled boulevards of this fascinating city. Our guide will set you up with all the good info to make the most of your free day.

Day 7: Budapest – Plitvice

We head south out of Budapest onto the UNESCO listed Plitvice National Park, via Lake Balaton, where we will stop for a swim. It's then onto the Balkan open air war museum, which is stunningly real in its appraisal of the Balkan war of the early 90's. We arrive into the national park at sunset ready for dinner in the middle of this aqua wonderland. Accommodation is in bungalows in the national park so you will wake up to amazing scenery and clean crisp fresh air.

Day 8: Plitvice – Split

We are the first in the park in the morning which means you get to wander through this amazing aqua wonderland before the crowds descend. The cascading waterfalls and aqua green lakes will leave you ready for the Croatian coast. We spend the whole morning in the national park and then set off on a memorable drive to the Croatian coast and a night out in the cosmopolitan town of Split.

Day 9: Split

You are free to travel on. Please don't forget our One Way Sail Croatia or the Balkan Trek. Both depart Split on Saturday.
